Who is this for?
The course should suit recent graduates and experienced staff with operations, process, engineering and safety responsibilities.
What prior study is recommended?
A basic understanding of the course subject area is beneficial but not essential.
At the end of the course you should be able to:
Day 1: Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
- Understand the key requirements of PUWER and the Supply of Machinery Regulations.
- Recognise employer and user responsibilities for the safe use of work equipment.
- Identify the role of risk assessments, inspections, maintenance, training and information in achieving compliance.
- Apply a practical approach to managing machinery-related risks within your organisation.
Day 2: Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR) and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR)
Gain confidence in interpreting legislation and managing pressure system compliance throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Understand the purpose and key requirements of PESR and PSSR.
Recognise the legal requirements relating to the design, manufacture, operation, maintenance and examination of pressure systems.
Understand the impact of post-Brexit regulatory changes on pressure equipment compliance.
