Who is this for?
The course is aimed at operators, designers, engineers and managers from operating companies who are involved in developing or implementing asset integrity management strategies. In completing this course, they will be enabled to make better contributions and decisions regarding hazard recognition, prevention and risk management.
What prior study is recommended?
Completion of an awareness course in the subject area, or equivalent practical experience, beneficial but not essential.
At the end of the course you should be able to:
- Understand what is meant by asset integrity management
- Provide an appreciation of how potential threats to mechanical integrity can arise throughout the asset lifecycle
- Provide an appreciation of how the threats to mechanical integrity can be managed
- Provide a fuller understanding of asset management and process safety risk management processes including:
- RBA, RBI and criticality analysis
- Identification and management of deterioration mechanisms
- Inspection, fitness for service assessments
- Maintenance, repairs and MoC
- Competence for integrity management
- Asset life planning
- Reduce the number of hazards and mitigate the risks that arise from equipment failures / loss of primary containment, which can result in:
- Injury to plant operators and maintainers (including third parties);
- Environmental damage and harm to the public
- Business interruption through loss of production
- Negative / adverse publicity
- Ensure statutory and legislative compliance
- Enable economically viable (profitable) production by:
